Acupuncture is a traditional medical technique that has been utilized for more than 5000 years. It is a wholistic form of medicine meaning that it treats the whole person not just signs and symptoms. Acupuncture works by placing needles on specific points of the body to unblock Qi and restore the body to balance. Qi is the energy that permeates all things. When the body is balanced, qi flows freely and a person is healthy. When a person is sick or injured there is an obstruction of qi. The body has an amazing ability to heal itself. Acupuncture assists the body in this healing process, promoting an optimal state of balance and well-being.
A natural and wholistic approach to facials, we combine traditional and facial acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine with cutting edge microcurrent therapy to create a treatment focused on whole body health and balance while leaving the skin looking fresh and radiant. Microcurrent utilizes low level electricity to trigger chemical reactions at a cellular level. It stimulates production of collagen and elastin, leaving the skin looking firm and smooth. Microcurrent also stimulates cellular renewal improving skin damage whether from sun or acne. If your looking for a non-surgical approach to looking younger, this is the treatment for you. For optimal results, treatments should be administered twice a week for 5 weeks with periodic maintenance every 60-90 days. Of course, we can always adjust depending on people's needs.
Curious about microcurrent or don't have enough time to get a full signature facial. Get one of our quick and energizing and refreshing microcurrent-only treatments. Experience the full deal or just focus on that one problem area. Either way, you'll leave looking younger and more radiant. Sessions last 30-40 minutes.
For your first acupuncture appointment you are asked to arrive 15-20 minutes early to complete the patient registration paperwork. The paperwork is available for download on this website. Wear loose-fitted clothing and eat within one hour of your appointment time.
The first acupuncture session normally lasts 1 1/2 hours. During the first half of the session we will discuss any present health concerns you may have and will complete a detailed intake of your health history. After the intake we will create a personalized treatment plan for reaching your health goals and you will receive an acupuncture treatment. This consists of using hair fine needles to stimulate specific points that have been selected for you as a result of the information collected in the interview process. The acupuncture needles used in this practice are sterilized needles that are not reused. Most patients consider acupuncture to be very relaxing and painless. You may feel a brief sensation like an ache, heaviness, or warmth. In addition to acupuncture, massage, Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition, and exercise advice may be given. Return acupuncture visits are typically 1 hour.
